Of Counsel
It is not surprising that I would be drawn to a criminal law practice as I actually went to law school with the intent of becoming a FBI Agent. I came from a law enforcement family where my grandfather and my father both held the position of Sheriff of Adams County, Mississippi for more than two decades.
Prior to entering law school, I had many interests. I was a Universal Dance Association instructor while I attended Louisiana State University where I obtained my undergraduate degree with a major in Political Science and double minor in English and Psychology. I went on to earn by Juris Doctor from Ole Miss while continuing down the law enforcement path by securing internships with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and the Williamson County Attorney’s office. While working in Franklin, I fell in love with the area, which reminded me of my hometown. I now actively work in both Franklin, Tennessee as of counsel to Daugherty, Haas & Associates, and also in my hometown of Natchez, Mississippi, to maintain connections with my two favorite communities.
After graduation, I worked as an Associate with Buerger, Moseley and Carson, then moved on to prosecute cases as an Assistant District Attorney in the 20th and 21st Judicial Districts. As the Drug Task Force Prosecutor for the 21st Judicial District, I met and married the love of my life. I ultimately decided to go out on my own, and be my own boss. When I made this decision, I knew that I wanted to remain in the courtroom as much as possible. My practice now concentrates on litigation and includes representation in the areas of criminal, family, juvenile, personal injury and general civil matters.
I do have a life outside of being an attorney. I am happily married, and I have a son and a daughter. I still enjoy dancing, and just wrapped up a year of teaching dance with the Rejoice School of Ballet located in Nashville. I am a former member of the Junior League of Nashville, and the prior Treasurer of the Williamson County Bar Association. I am also a member of the Pilgrimage Garden Club.
